“Fly an octopus kite” with gratitude for 10 years
As we approach summer, we wish you all the best in your life.
This year marks 10 years since Isehara's local toy, the Abu Kite, made its way to Bali, Indonesia. Tomi Manda, representative of the Bali Sacred Lands Preservation Society, handed it to the school of Besaki 6th Elementary School in Besaki Village, Karagasam Prefecture, Bali Province, Indonesia, and it was used as a school teaching material, and the students exchanged postcards and sent ``fly kites'' made by the children of Besaki Elementary School. In October 2009, we invited 10 children from Besaki No. 6 Elementary School and a total of 13 people, including their parents and teachers, to Isehara as "little goodwill ambassadors connecting Isehara and Bali" and visited Oyama Elementary School. We had exchanges with such people. During the exchange, the children of Besaki tried the persimmon for the first time and found it delicious, and as a ``proof of the exchange'', they sent 50 persimmon trees and held a tree-planting ceremony at Besaki Temple in March 2011. After that, this led to agricultural exchange in order to grow the persimmons. All of our activities have been made possible by donations and the support of a large number of people, including approximately 100 organizations in Bali, Indonesia and all over Japan, and more than 300 people in both countries. I sincerely thank you. On this 10-year milestone, from March 11th to 17th, 2016, 10 children from Bali, their parents, teachers, and We would like to invite two students from the Faculty of Agriculture, National Udayana University. The world is acutely aware of the importance of international exchange that transcends national borders. I would like to cherish and connect each encounter and each person's feelings. We look forward to your continued guidance, encouragement, and support.
